Midland Gliding Club

is one of the oldest clubs in the UK, formed in 1934, with all year round operation, seven days a week March to November and offers wave, thermal and ridge soaring for novice and accomplished pilots. It runs glider pilot training courses throughout the summer and welcomes visiting expeditions. Trial lessons (by prior arrangement) make fantastic presents, especially at Christmas.

The Wenlock Olympian Games

have been held almost every year in Much Wenlock since 1850 attracting athletes from all across the UK.

Named after the town in honour of its role in the development of the modern Olympic movement ‘Wenlock’, the official London 2012 Olympic Games mascot, attended the main athletics day in 2010 as a VIP visitor to meet spectators and join in a fun run for children.

The Vintage Glider Club

arose from the wish of the vintage glider owners at the very successful first International Vintage Glider Rally at Husbands Bosworth in 1973 to encourage the preservation of worthy gliders of the past, particularly by the ownership and active flying of these machines.
